Merrill Man Booked On Multiple Felony Charges; Aspirus Hospital Placed On Lockdown

MERRILL – On Monday June 24, A Merrill man that was involved in a domestic incident fled the scene, resulting in a vehicle pursuit. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies were notified of an individual who had sustained injuries consistent with battery and strangulation being treated at Aspirus Merrill Hospital. The reported also stated that the victim had also been threatened with a gun.

The 45 year old suspect initially fled from a traffic stop, and the pursuit ended a shortly after when his vehicle became stuck in a farm field. He was then taken into custody and booked on multiple felony charges. The name of the suspect was not released at that time.

Aspirus Merrill Hospital was put on lock down for a short period, with the presence of additional law enforcement on site for safety reasons, according to the Sheriff’s Report.
